Scott Guidry, Founder & CEO

Biography

Scott Guidry is the Founder & CEO of the Guidry Group.  Scott has deep roots in Louisiana where he was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana. He attended St. Thomas More High School in Lafayette, Louisiana where he was a National Merit Scholar. Scott went on to attend Louisiana State University where he garnered several accolades, including Best Design in Biological Engineering and was named a LSU Top 100 Scholar at LSU Department of Agriculture.  He finished his undergraduate studies in 2006 at the University of Louisiana with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.

While attending the University of Louisiana, Scott’s interest in the law was sparked during a Business Law course and he decided to enroll at the Paul M. Hebert Law School at Louisiana State University. He earned his juris doctorate from LSU Law School in 2009 where he was honored with the LSU Law Chancellor’s Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award.

Scott began his career as a solo attorney handling a variety of legal matters including matters particular to small businesses. He also spent time as an Assistant District Attorney for the 15th Judicial District Attorney’s Office working with youth in the community. At the same time, Scott became an adjunct professor at the University of Louisiana where he returned to his inspiration teaching Business Law to the next generation of business leaders of Louisiana. Scott’s time working with both troubled youth and future business leaders showed him the importance of building a proper foundation of knowledge and direction in order for one to be successful.  

Scott went on to a serve over a decade as General Counsel for Acadian Ambulance Service in Lafayette, Louisiana handling matters for multiple divisions in both the healthcare and energy sectors in a variety of areas including contract drafting and review, employee matters to compliance and information security.

Scott provided legal consultation to every division and department, which allowed him to see how every part of a successful enterprise is done.  In addition, he was often part of many strategic decisions during his time with Acadian. Scott’s time with Acadian allowed him to develop the skills needed to balance the operational needs with the legal and regulatory demands of the business.

Scott has always had a great desire to give back to the communities that have helped shape him.  He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, Association of Corporate Counsel, American Health Lawyers Association and Association of Louisiana Lobbyist. Scott currently serves on the boards of the Louisiana Patient Compensation Fund, Louisiana Emergency Response Network and the Ochsner Lafayette General Enterprise Risk Management Committee. He has also served as a board member for his local chapters of the March of Dimes and Junior Achievement as well as chairman of the Louisiana Ambulance Alliance Political Action Committee. 

Scott maintains a strong relationship with individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit. Both his father and mother as well as himself were sole proprietors or partners in several businesses in the Acadiana area. These roots in small business gave Scott an appreciation for all the hard work it takes to make a small business succeed, including finding the resources to compete with its larger competitors.
